Powerpoint settings

G

Gilles

I am using a Mac G4 with the system OS X 10.4.10, with an 17 inche
screen and Powerpoint 2004 version 11.3.6.

I used to see a full screen pps document sent by friends just by
cliking on it. Now I can't do it

Recently I lost my hard disk and I am rebuilding it but I also lost
the capacity to do just what I just told you a few lines up.

I just can't find the appropriate setting to do what I used to do
without a new setting at every new document, but I know it is possible
because when I installed my Powerpoint two years ago I had the same
problem. I can't remember what I read to remedy the situation.

Let me tell you I search a lot before writing for help.

I hope you could help me.

Thanks in advance.

"Now I can't do it" is a very broad statement. What exactly happens when
you double click? Does it open the PPS but not in full screen? Does it
not open the PPS at all? Try right clicking (or control clicking if you
have a single-button mouse) and choosing Open With. Choose Other and find
the PowerPoint application. Before clicking OK, be sure to check the box
for Always Use This Application.

I was not very precise I agree.

PowerPoint does open but with the back and forward arrows at the top
of the document, on the left side the different images that are part
of the document, and on the lower righthand side the end and help
buttons.

I hope I expressed myself properly this time ????

Thank you in advance for the help David.

It sounds like you're seeing the Presenter Tools for some reason. This is
what PowerPoint Help had to say about this issue:

------------
When I click View Show I still get the presenter tools.

Set your monitors to be mirrored.
1. On the Apple menu, click System Preferences.
2. In the System Preferences dialog box, click Displays, and then click the
Arrangement tab.
3. Toggle the Mirror Displays check box at the lower left of the dialog box.

Try the following: in the Finder do a Get Info on any pps file you have. In
the section Open with, select PowerPoint.
