Printing from Office to QMS color printer

Whenever I try to print from any office application to a network color QMS
3100 printer the office application crashes send the information to microsoft.
checking the eventlog and trying to find a solution from microsoft web site
I get no information available.
I can print test page and from other applications.
if the printer is set as default the office application crashes just when I
hit print.
if it is not the default it crashes when I choose the printer.
I can print to local printers printers.
I am running Windows XP Pro SP2.
office XP with the latest update.

If you were previously able to print, but no longer can, then it's probably
because the printer driver is corrupted. Try deleting and reinstalling the
printer in Start | Control Panel | Printers.
