printing from Word and Publisher

Upgraded to Office 2003 Pro at the end of January 05. Since then scanning a
document (text or picture) into either Word or Publisher - item looks fine on
the page but the print out is wrong - duplicates the item several tiimes on
the page and all lines etc are squeezed up on the printed page. Hard to
explain!
Scanner works fine with OCR and direct from it to printer for copier.
No problem printiing any items prepared in the PC or from Emails or taken
from the Internet.
Any advice please?

What happens when you use your scanner software, save and insert into your
applications? It is a far better method.
