Here's my question. If I set up a certain number of blank slides for a show
(say 10 just to have a number) is there any way to then go to a file that
has the pictures, select the 10 pictures and have them insert on sequential
slides without having to go to each slide individually and say
Insert>Picture>from file. I hope that is clear. Thanks for any help.

Two choices:

Insert > Picture > New Photo Album

The Image Importer Wizard at http://www.mvps.org/skp/iiw.htm

By the way, you don't have to insert blank slides in advance of using the above.
Both will do it for you.
