Problem with Office Excel

We are using Windows 2000 Professional OS, and
MS Office 2000 Professional for some systems and Windows
XP Professional for some systems. Of late we are having a
problem with MS Excel in systems where we're using
Windows 2000 Professional, i.e. "Open" command button
and "Save As" command are not working in Excel. We've
used Norton Anti-virus-8.0 ver. (corporate addition) and
updated it live also. We've also uninstalled Office 2000
and reloaded but the problem is still persisting.

This is problem is not there in the systems where we're
using Windows-XP Professional.

Kindly help us in this regard.

Sounds like you have been whacked by NIMDA virus.

This was a virus that affected the File|Save, File|SaveAs and File|Open.

Check out this google search thread for fixes if you do have NIMDA
