Problem with Resource Calendars

Hi all,
I'm having a basic problem with Project 2002 and resource calendars that I
hope someone can help me with. Here's the simplest way to replicate it:

1. In Gantt view, create a project with a single task of 20 days work, 20
days duration and assign it to "Harry". Project start date is today.
2. Go into Harry's resource calendar and set NEXT week to "non-working
time" (i.e. give him next week off....lucky guy). Note that project extends
the end date of the task by 1 week. So far so good.
3. Now, split the window and put "Gantt" view on top, "resource usage" on
bottom. Add the "Actual Work" column to the bottom window.
4. Enter 1 day of actual work in the first day of the task and NOTE: in the
"Gantt" view, the "progress bar" indicates well into next week. WHY?? What
am I missing here? Note that if you don't modify Harry's calendar to
indicate 1 week's vacation next week, the progress bar will be reflected
properly in the Gantt view (i.e. only 1 day of progress).

This is such a fundamental problem that I feel I must be missing something
basic. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your help,
Ron

Hi,

The progress bar is showing you the % of Duration complete. Since you added
a week, % complete bar will be longer than before, so looking like it's
going into the non-working week. There is no direct relationship between the
date the progress bar finishes on and what is the last day's work done as
set by actual work in the resource usage view.
