Problems opening and saving Excel 2003 PCfile with Excel2004 for Mac

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Intel Received an excel 2003 file created on a PC with macros. When I open the file with excel 2004 for Mac I select enable macros, but some of the features (drop down menus) in the workbook no longer function. I need to update the data in the file and return this to my client (PC User) but I cannot save the file as xls workbook or in any other form for that matter.

Is this a compatability issue that cannot be resolved or is there a way around these problems I'm experiencing. Thanks.

I¹m not sure what the problem is based on your description. It sounds like
several problems. The drop down menus probably do not work because the
author of the worksheet used Active-x controls on the PC. These are not
supported on the Mac. It can be corrected by replacing the active-x controls
with controls from the forms menu. These controls will work on both Mac and
PC. HOWEVER, it may also require some code changes.

What do you mean by ³I can not save the file as xls workbook²? Do you get
errors? If so, what are they? I would also assume that there are macros
involved that are not written with the Mac in mind. In that case the macros
will have to be rewritten to function properly on both platforms.
