Problems with pasting

When pasting data from one cell to another, or from
another application into Excel, I sometimes end up
pasting a picture of my entire screen (including taskbar,
etc.) into my spreadsheet. When I go to the office
clipboard, all previous entries are gone, only the screen
shot is available for pasting. Why does this happen and
how can I stop it?
