problems with pictures

I am correcting a book I wrote in Word 08 Mac. When adding graphics/
pictures, the text often fails to wrap around the picture. Rather, it
goes under it, or part of the last letter of a sentence is cut off by
the pic, even though I select Format Picture>Layout>Square. Worse than
that, when a picture is, say, at the bottom of a page, the lines of
text next to the pic will be repeated at the top of the next page.
Sometimes this eventually corrects itself, and not other times.
Anybody else have this problem? Anything I can do to fix it? Thanks...

Ok... I think I figured out my problem. Originally I wrote this in
Word 04, and later converted it over to a Word 08 document. The
graphics problem started in 08. I have just now opened it up in Word
04...and no graphics problem. So...the problem came in opening it up
in 08.
