Program not responding

Hi guys,

I am working in a program that needs to access a table thousand of times,
the thing is that with not too many records runs fine but when I run it with
lot of records in some point the program is not responding, and results are
not the expected in some cases. What are my options in this case, split the
file or there is another option I can take.
