Project 2003 compatibility with Office 2007

We currently have Project 2003 deployed to approx 2000 users. We are likely
to upgrade to Office 2007 before we'll be ready to upgrade to Project 2007.
Is Project 2003 compatible with Office 2007? Are there known issues?

Hi Melanie,
They seem to get along fine. I initially had Project 2007 with Office 2003,
and now am using Project 2003 and Project 2007 with Office 2007. We initially
had some problems opening documents on our Sharepoint 2 portal as well as
issues running both versions of Project simultaneously, but by running a
repair on both versions (through Add/Remove Programs), those problems were
resolved. They seemed at least in part related to some updates that went out.

I've also seen the sharepoint issue. You should also note that Project 2003
can't open the Excel 2007 .xlsx format. You will have to save back into .xls
format if you are importing information.

Jack is correct here. Also, Project 2007 cannot open the Excel 2007 format
either. You have to save in Excel 2007 back to Excel 2003 format to import
into Project 2007. Sounds odd but it's true.
