Project 2007 - Task drivers & project guide not showing

I have just installed MS Project 2007 from MSDN for evaluation
purposes. 2 of the things I really want to look at are the updated
Project guide and Task Drivers. Neither of these seem to be accessible
at the moment.
1) Project Guide - I can switch between project guide on/off via the
view menu but this still does not show.
2) Task drivers - The icon is available on the toolbar but when
selecting I get the message 'Functionality not available. You're using
a custom project guide that doesn't support this functionality. Would
you like to use the default project guide?' YES/NO. I select yes and
retry but get the same message. I have looked at the options/interface
tab and this suggests I am using the default project guide.
Maybe the 2 things are linked but I have run out of ideas!!. Any help
would be appreciated.

Hello Matthew,

I had some similar problems with the beta release of MS Project 2007.
Just to check, you are using the RTM version, not one of the betas?

The fix recommended from the connect site for the issue I had with
beta version was to exit Project, rename the the global.mpt file, and
restart. This created a new global.mpt.

Obviously, I suggest this *only* on a testing machine.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Project Guide did not initially appear on the toolbar when I first setup
Project. I discovered that the Visual Basic functionality was not setup
for Project. When that was added as part of the Project installation
Project Guide did appear in the toolbar.
