project guide disabled

Hello.

I have MS Project 2007 installed.

I read several documents that suggested that I start the creating a project
by using this Project Guide. Unfortunately this pane does not appear for me.

When I goto Tools=>Options=>Interface, under project guide settings, the
display project guide checkbox is disabled and unchecked.

Why is this disabled?

Upon further investigation, I found a way to check this checkbox. When I
goto View, there is an option to turn project guide on. After turning that
on, nothing happens. The only difference is that the previously disabled
checkbox is now checked, but still disabled. No project guide pane appears.

How do I get this project guide pane?

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

I can't reproduce your problem. Have you tried a new project? We need to
discover whether your project is at fault, whether it is Project at fault,
or whether it's your PC. Does the symptom occur with other projects on this
PC? Does it occur with this project on other PCs? Does it occur with other
projects on other PCs?
