Project Start Date keeps changing when Actual Start Date changes

Hello,
I guess I have made some mistakes when creating the project in Project 2003.
In the project, I have columns "Start","Finish","Actual Start" & "Actual
Finish" and etc. "Start" column lists the date when the task is supposed to
start and "Actual Start" column lists the date when the task actually starts.
The problem is that whenever I change the date under "Actual Start" column
to anything from NA, the date value under "Start" column changes as well.
In summary, "Start" date changes whenever "Actual Start" date changes.
Can anybody let me know what I did wrong and how I can solve this annoying
issue?

Hi,

That is how Project works.
If you want to keep track of the dates at a certain point in time, Tools,
Tracking, DSave baseline will copy them into Baseline Start/Baseline Finish.
Compare them with actuals opr modified plan through the tracking Gantt
