PST f ile problem with Outlook 2007

I recently purchased a new computer running Windows 7 and moved a pst file
from the old computer to the new one. Everything was working fine with
Outlook until i got the "file is damaged" error and had to run scanpst.exe.
Seemingly that ran fine. However, now when i use Outlook, the pst file does
not get updated e.g. any emails that i delete are still in the inbox next
time i open it. I can receive and send emails but my inbox seems to be stuck
in time. Messages i move to other folders still appear in the inbox next time
i start Outlook. Also, when i quit Outlook, i don't get asked the message
about deleting email.

Thanks in advance.

State in complete detail how you connected this file to your new Outlook
profile.
Did you read and follow any of the daily posts here that tell you how to do
so?

The answer to you head scratching lies in your phrase, "pointed it to the
copied pst file." Once you created a "new account" you created a new default
PST file. How you connected to the old PST file and disconnected from the
new will explain the behavior you saw.
