.PUB file is enormous, how can I can I reduce it?

I created a new pub document by copying and pasting from several Word,
Publisher and Power Point documents. The new 27 page document is now 135MB
and too large for Acrobat to distill. I need to find the page(s) or graphics
that are causing the problem but I cannot find any tool within Publisher that
shows that. I checked a few of the graphics that were pasted in and
extrapolated that at their average file size, images should only account for
10MB or so. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You are using Publisher 2000 or earlier. Images are decompressed and stored
as uncompressed bitmaps within the file, bloating the filesize as you have
observed. This should not normally stop Distiller from working, what error
message are you getting?

Thanks for your quick reply Ed. I failed to note that I am using Publisher
2003 SP2.
Acrobat fails at 60% and the Acrobat message is very vague: "Adobe PDF
Printer failed to create the PDF file."

There are 24 jpg images @ 560kb each which should account for 13MB out of
the 135MB total size. I'm theorizing that there is something happening in the
copy and paste function from the other docs. What do you think?

I finally figured out where the size problem was. I had copied slides
directly out of Power Point and evidently there was some powerpoint code
being copied along with the image. I captured each slide with SnagIt and
saved all of the images as jpg's and now the pub file is about 3.5MB. Thanks
for your help.
