I started working for a company that hosts a large public folder tree.
This company has many users accessing it and several users with
Publisher / Editor permissions. These permissions were not working
correctly. To resolve the problem I changed the users permissions with
an account that had owner permissions. This did not work. Although the
permissions now appeared correct the users still had the same
permissions as before.
To resolve this issue I removed the root folder and recreated it. I
then assigned the permissions that i wanted and moved all of the sub
folders back in. The permissions propogated successfully but users
results were not consistent. Some users were able to access the folders
and make changes with out issue. Others had the ability to make changes
but when opening a list of contacts they only see contacts that start
with the letters G-H. They are, however, able to make changes to these
contacts. Any idea what I can change to allow these users to see all of
the contacts in this list?
There are about 5 users that have publisher / editor permissions and
they were all created from the same template. Only 1 can see all of the
contacts in the folder.
I have tried rebuilding the folders permissions with a third party tool
called PFDavAdmin. The tool reported that there were no errors with the
permissions so I ran the rebuild anyway with no success.
Users access the folders with Outlook 2003 in cached exchange mode.
This folder is one of many root folders though it is the only one with
issues.
