Publish problems

My problem is two-fold-

After using FP 2002 (w/ Windows ME) for almosttwo years
now, I've recently had to change hosting providers for my
site. I repointed the IP with the registrar and have
allowed 24 hours for the change to propogate, and can even
view my new host's control panel. But have not been able
to publish to new site. (I've also recently had to wipe my
HD and reinstall everything including the backup copy of
the website. I have clicked off the "read Only" properties
on everything in my web including hidden folders)

1)When I get the Publish Web window, it doesn't list any
of the web pages in the from "C:\My Documents\My Webs"
space. (Along with the check marks for what has been
updated, etc...)

2)When I hit publish any way, I get an error which
reads "System exception: Access violation" even though I
have triple checked the password and username. Is this
related to problem #1 or a separate thing to take up with
my hosting provider?

Thanks

Make sure you're opening your local web by launching FrontPage and selecting
File > Open web.... and when open then selecting File > Publish web....

Also it sometimes takes 48 hours for the domain name to propagate throughout
the domain name servers.

Hmmmmmm, when I go through File > Open Web, it only shows
the files in the web (_themes, etc.), not the actual pages
themselves.

Thoughts?

How did you "copy" the backup web site from the CD??

Also, Open web will default to C:\My Documents\My Webs. Did you then browse
to the actual location of the web after you copied it from the CD?

I used Edit> Copy To from the CD back up to the My
Documents folder, then I unchecked the "Read Only" boxes
in the properties.

When I open folder just through My Computer> My Documents>
My Webs I can see the individual pages listed as files.

There should be another folder in My webs that has the name of your local
web and has FrontPage web globe icon on it.
If not, in FrontPage create a new folder, right click on it and select
convert to web. Then import all of your web files into this folder.
Recalculate hyperlinks and then Publish.
