Publisher 2003 Printing Problem

I am experiencing a problem printing to printers from
Publisher 2003.

If the printer is added via printui.dll as a Per Machine
Printer connection publisher will not print to it. All
other printing from windows works fine.

If I add the printer just to the user's profile, then
printing appears to work just fine.

For some reason Publisher 2003 is unable to print to per
machine printers setup from a network share via
printui.dll.

Any help or suggestions? I can find nothing in the
knowledge base to help. Why is Publisher affected in
this way? The rest of Office prints fine.

I am not familiar with your "printui.dll"

How does this differ from "Add Printer"?

Publisher needs to communicate more closely with the printer driver than
other apps or Office components do.

I checked out the article and I do not think it applies.
The print processor is set correctly on the PRINTUI based
printer, and is identical to the printer setup via the
GUI.

Printui.dll is a command line based way to add network
printers off a printer server where they are global to
the machine as opposed to being per profile. In other
words, you add the printer via printer share where no
matter who logs in, the printer is listed.

For reasons I can not understand, Publisher refuses to
print to printers added this way. Everything else I have
tested prints fine.
