Publisher 2003 Update?

I have recently installed the stand alone version of Publisher 2003 onto a
Windows XP Home SP3 system with Office 97 Pro and Word 2002. Windows Update
claims that I now need a 100 MB update for Office 2003 however the complete
Office 2003 is not installed. I've looked at some of the details for the
update and it doesn't mention anything specific to Publisher. Is this
update really needed for Publisher 2003 or am I ok without it since the rest
of Office 2003 is not installed?

Thank you both for your replies. However, it would be great if you could
let me know some more details. For example, if I install the Office 2003
SP2 update, will only components for Publisher 2003 in the update be
installed? Or will the whole update be installed? Still, I did not see
anything specific to Publisher 2003 in the description of the update or did
I overlook something?

The updates are used by all Office products. There aren't specific updates in
the service packs. Install the service packs. If you don't - down the road you
will wish you had.

Only components actually on your system will be updated. There are lots
of updates to Publisher, including a couple of extra small features.

Thanks for the reply. I installed the update. Apparently there was only
one component that was applied to the Publisher 2003 installation.
