How do I convert a document made in Publisher to an Adobe PDF?

For an Adobe PDF, you'll need an Adobe Product. Namely, Adobe Acrobat.
With v7 and later, simply click the button on the Adobe PDF Toolbar. In
older versions, you'll have to select File > Print and select the Adobe PDF
or Acrobat Distiller printer.

For a generic PDF readable by Adobe Reader, there are any number of cheap
and/or free applications you can use. e.g. PrimoPDF from www.primopdf.com

You need to have Adobe Acrobat Standard or Professional (not Reader), or
download the free pdf utility, primopdf from www.primopdf.com

You will create your publication, then when you are ready to print, you will
go to File > Print and change your printer to the PDF printer driver
installed by the PDF software.

I think the Adobe PDF that does this is very expensive. Unless someone was
going to use it a lot and, for some reason wanted Adobe.

As I have recently found out PrimoPDF version 2 doesn't work with Win 98
and 98 SE (and earlier I imagine). They don't say this on their website but
a lot is written about it in their forum. I finally got Verson 1 that
supposedly works with Win 98, it installed fine and seemed to work (and my
printer still did) but at the end, when it was going to create the pdf it
gave an error message "invalid dll". Looking on their discussion board I
found others writing about this, too! (they even have a bug report topic
there that the company doesn't seem to respond to).

I ended up finding another one (CutePDF) installing it and the requiured
converter (link given on the Cute website) it went in fine, it works great
(the little I've tried it) and my printer still works and isn't messed up.

Just FYI

I think if you have a newer Windows (which most everyone now has)
PrimoPDF version 2 works good.

I never really liked pdf documents, because they come up so slow (on my
machine, anyway) but I enjoy making them now.

Hi Coni -

I use Publisher at work to create alot of different publications at work.
When I need to send an electronic copy of my work, I use the 'CutePDF
Writer'. You will need to install it on your computer and also have the Adobe
installed too.

Here is the link:
http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp

It may move slow for you when it saves as a .pdf file. The larger the file,
the longer its going to take. I like using this at work - I can save the file
on my computer and give it a name.

Hope this helps.
