PWA Security

Is there a way to modify security attributes for your entire organization
without having to manually open each user profile and make the adjustment?
For example, we have aprox 1000 users and would like to turn off access to
the documentation link.

Thanks!

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is devoted
solely to the Microsoft Project desktop application only. To answer your
question, you have two choices:

1. Turn off the feature at the highest level in PWA to deny the Documents
feature to everyone. To do this, log into PWA with administrator
permissions, then click Admin - Server Configuration. In the features grid
in the middle of the page, scroll to the Collaboration section and then set
the View Documents feature to Deny.

2. If you want to turn off the Documents feature for only selected groups
of people, then modify one or more of the default Groups in PWA. To do
this, click Admin - Manage users and groups, and then click the Groups link
in the sidepane on the left. Select the first Group you wish to modify and
then click the Modify Group button. In the Global Permissions grid at the
bottom of the page, set the View Documents permission to Deny. Repeat these
steps for each group that you want to prevent from using the Documents
feature in PWA.

Under only rare circumstances should you ever modify the permissions for an
individual user account. It is better and easier to control permissions at
either the Group level, or at the highest level in the system if necessary.
Hope this helps.
