And we are to guess what VERSION of Outlook is involved?
Or what was the full content of the error message?
Or for what type of e-mail account (SMTP, HTTP/Deltasync, or Exchange)?

Have you yet enabled authentication to the SMTP mail server in the
e-mail account you defined within Outlook (if using SMTP)?
