remember password

i am wondering..... if i use a drop down box for a user log on.. that has
all the usernames.... is there a way that i can put a check box there that
will remember the PW is they click it? or even if i dont use a dropdown..
how do i get it to remember it when a user comes back. i have seen this on
many sites

If you could do that, what is the point of having a password? or even a
username? Anybody could click on any name in the dropdown and get logged
in.

What you are seeing on other sites is a function of your browser, not the
webpage or website.

You could write some Javascript to store the password in a cookie, or
you could use a Serverside solution.
