remove resources grayed

When I go to assign a resource to a task in project, the 'remove' and
'replace' buttons are grayed out (ghosted). I was wondering how to get them
enabled again? We are not using a project server. We are using Project 2003
Professional with SP1.

Hello,
When you go to assign a resource to a task, probably this task as no
resource. So the Remove and Replace button can't remove anything and replace
nothing.
Try after you assigned a resource.

We haven’t assigned tasks to Resources yet…in order to remove a resource they
must be assigned a task?

Hi,

Please be clear.
When I read your first mail you are clearly talking about assigning
resources, and the assign resource window, not about the resource itself.
This being said, you can delete resources from the resource sheet view.
