Removing Team Status requests

J

jumpsystems

I'm running Project 2000 and use the Team Status facility to get updates from
my team.

Anyone know how I can get rid of an outstanding TS request when I know I'll
never get a reply?

Hi David,

This is from memory so I may be off a bit. I think there is a field in
Project 2000 named "Response Pending". If you add that field to a table
(Insert Column) and set the field to no.

Hope this helps, let us know how you get along.

Thanks, but it didn't quite work, as field is protected.

Hi David,

Sorry. If you add the Response pending field to the Task Usage View or
Resource Usage view, can you change the Response pending field for the
assignment? Again, I am looking at Project 2003 and the only Response
Pending field that I can edit is the assignment field.

Hope this helps.

Hi Julie,
Can you suggest how to fix this one?
Project Pro/SP2

..mpp file has 10,000 tasks, 30,000 assignments, 500+ Resources.

Response Pending field in both Task Usage and Resource Usage shows all rows
as "NO." Indicators in Resources Usage View agrees but Indicators in Task
Usage shows Response Pending icon for many (but not nearly all) Assignments
for 4 different resources. Any suggestions on how to clear this before the
project goes live?

Thanks,
Robert

Hello Robert,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. If I understand you
correctly, the field Response Pending is correct but you are seeing the
indicator for Response pending on some assignments in the Task Usage
view. If you add the unique ID field and note the assignment unique IDs
then track to the same assignment in the Resource Usage view. Does the
indicator appear?

If you resend the assignment to the resource can he/she respond again?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

What ToolTip message do you get if you hover over the indicator (and
what precisely does the indicator look like)?

There appear to be two types which behave differently. One is an
envelope with a question mark on it. This appears be be affected by the
"Response Pending" column. The other is an envelope with both question
mark and clock on it and seems to be displayed some time after the
request was sent and I assume it is some sort of time out. This second
is not affected by the "Response Pending" column.

Hi Julie,

Found a solution -

First, I can't "resend the assignment to the resource" because the
assignments weren't sent in thefirst place. They are still generic resources
with no email address.

"If you add the unique ID field and note the assignment unique IDs
then track to the same assignment in the Resource Usage view. Does the
indicator appear? - Yes. Also, the Response Pending field say NO.

The indicator is the envelope with a question mark in the lower right and a
clock in the lower left - which I believe indicates an overdue response.

Only 4 generic resources - with very similar names - were impacted.

Solution - create 4 new resources and copy/move all of the initial resources
assignments to the corresponding new resource. Not pretty, but it works.

ciao

Hi Robert,

I'm glad you were able to find a solution -- however inelegant. Thanks
for posting the fix that worked for you.
