Repairing Start Menu's "New Office Document" item

Hi, I've just come over from OpenOffice. It seems that OO had
commandeered MS Office's file associations. I've got the file
extensions, such as .doc and .xls, straightened out, but the New
Office Document item on the Start Menu continues to call Open
Office.

I've run the MS Office Repair wizard from Control Panel, to no
avail. How can I get at these associations?
