report columns

I have a report, on that is a subreport that has 2 columns on it.
If I view the sub report on its own it looks fine.
When I add it to the main report firstly the 2 columns changed to 1, so then
I went into setup on the main report and changed that to 2 columns, the first
column starts in the correct place, the second column however begins at the
top of the page overwriting info on the main report!
Is ther a simple solution?

Subreports with snaking columns will only "snake" if you use "Across, Then Down"
columns or if the subform control on the parent report has CanGrow set to No.
This is because the subreport has no knowledge of when the parent report hits
the bottom of a page.
