Requesting Access Add-Ins from me

J

Jeff Conrad

My apologies for the "unusual" post here.
I'm not even sure this message will reach the intended people, but
I'll try anyway.

I have a few Access add-ins that have not been posted on a web site
as of yet, but have sent them to many people in the newsgroups. To
facilitate the process of e-mailing the files to people, I have posted a
"dump" e-mail address several times in the newsgroups where people
can reach me. This all works fine assuming I know ahead of time that
a message for me will be arriving in that account! That account receives
thousands and thousands of junk messages every week. I have to clear
it out from time to time, but normally do not pay attention to the messages
themselves.

This morning while clearing it out, by pure luck I happened to find at least
a couple of messages in there requesting my add-ins! One of which was
from Australia and a big fan of Allen Browne <g>. I was unaware of
these requests until now. Apparently people have been reviewing past
posts and threads on the subjects and sent a message thinking I would
see their message.

I wish to extend my apologies to anyone that has sent a message within
the last couple of weeks. I'm sorry for not replying in a timely manner,
but I was unaware of the request. So if anyone *has* requested something
recently, it is very likely I missed the message completely and deleted it.
The best way to reach me is to post a message in the newsgroup; you
can put my name in the Subject line if you wish. If it does not appear that
I saw the message, I'm sure someone will ping me.

Again, my apologies for the trouble.

Now look what you've gotten yourself into, Jeff!

I'm just afraid there are people out there thinking, "Gee,
nice guy, he doesn't even reply back!"

:-(

I quite like MailWasher for this purpose. Although my ISP on this
email account deletes about 600 spams per day for me the last time I
had an option enabled where I could see the spams.

Hi Tony,

The company I work for used to be much larger. We had many
more people here in the office than we do now. This "dump" account
is where any messages going to any of those past employees falls
into. I've been battling with our ISP about why these messages
have to go here and not returned Undeliverable. For now this is
what I have to do, but hopefully they can work out something.

Sheesh. That's a setting on my mail server. I setup a * account and
tell it what address to forward all emails without a valid user name.
And if I don't setup a * account then they automatically bounce. No
big deal.

But I also run my own webserver complete with email, FTP and DNS.

Preaching to the choir Tony!

I'm working on something anyway where this problem will go away.
