Resource Report : Mandays worked to date and Mandays forecast

Nicole

I have a non-baselined plan, against which work has already started and I
have been tracking that effort using the '% Complete' column (as opposed to
planned and actual dates). So, the dates in the plan for work either in
progress or complete, are actual dates. Now, I'd like to get a view of how
many man days Person XY has spent on the project so far, and how many mandays
Person XY has estimated (in the plan) that it will take them to complete the
project. Is this easily done ?

Hello Nicole,

If you are just looking for broad information (you don't need to know how
many "mandays" were spent in January versus February) try looking at the
Resource Sheet with the Work table applied. First switch to the Resource
Sheet view and once ther, click the upper left corner in the gridded portion
(above the ID number and to the left of the indicator column) and select the
Work table from the shortcut menu. The "Actual" shows you how much work has
been completed and "Remaining" shows how much work is left.

Most likely it will show you "man hours", but you can change Project to
display work in days. Go to Tools > Options, and click the Shcedule tab and
change the option "Work is entered in:" to days.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
Before producing my report I had to go back and review all tasks in the plan
and assign appropriate percentages in the ‘units’ column. The ‘work’ view
had made my Person XY look severely overworked and I noted that the default
100% units needed to be reviewed for each line to produce a more realistic
view.
