resource reports

We are trying to use Project to assign and track facilitators in training
courses or "tasks". I would like to run a report listing the facilitator
names in the first column and their tasks listed across the row to the right.
Each of the columns would represent a week and contain their task(s) for
that week. Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi JulieH,

There are a couple of reports already build into Project that get
*close* to what you are seeking.

Try View > Reports, Assignment and see if the "Who Does What When
Report" or the "To-Do List" report will suit your needs.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

That was one of the closer reports, yes. But I must be doing some thing
wrong. While it does show the facilitators and the time divided into weeks,
it only shows that they are "working" for so many days during that week - not
what they're doing.

Is that what you were talking about?

Thanks for such a fast response.

Hi Julie,

You're welcome and thanks for the feedback.

I assume you are referring to the "Who Does What When" report we you say
you can't see the details on what a facilitator is doing that day or
week.

The Who Does What When report is based upon the Resource Usage view. It
sounds as though the assignment rows are collapsed up under the
resource's names in the Resource Usage view. Display the Resource Usage
view and choose All Subtasks from the Show button on the Formatting
toolbar. That should expand each assignment under the resource's name.
Then try print previewing the report.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Guess it's a case of wanting it all. Really would like to be able to pull
the task details up into the weeks they're being worked on - instead of the
"1day" notation. Thanks for the response anyway.

Hi JulieH,

You could use the Analyze Timescaled data in Excel button on the Analysis
toolbar to export the data to Excel and then once the data is in Excel,
manually copy each task.

If you start from the Resource Usage view and follow the wizard, it will
step you through the process. In the wizard, you can also set the timescale
of the export to weeks.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
