Resource Usage--Project Summary

I recently downloaded Rod Gill's PCC to try and solve some of my reporting
problems...I noticed that when you use this macro, it sets up the Resource
Usage view to show *projects* instead of *individual tasks* beneith each
resource.

Unfortunately, I can't get the macro to work correctly, and the information
it shows in the Resource Usage view is wrong...but, I would like to be able
to set this up independent of Gill's macro, but I can't figure out how he did
it.

Using the grouping function doesn't work in the Resource Usage view, and
with the task views, I end up getting messy results due to tasks with
multiple resources...

Does anyone know how to make the Resource Usage view work this way (show a
resource's project summary instead of individual tasks)?

Simple answer, The PCC macro reads total hours for a resource for each
project in the program and adds them to the one task in the PCC project that
represents the project. You can't do it any other way.

The PCC data should be accurate. If you have Project 2003 make sure you
upgrade to SP2 as I have experienced macro problems with 2003 sans SPs.

Rod-thanks so much for the reply. I figured something like that was going
on, but I can only located the report code and some other small stuff...I'm a
newbie with Visual Studio, so maybe I'm missing something.

How do I see that particular bit of code? Could I make use of it outside of
the PCC? In a Master/Consolodated plan, for example?

I'm using Project 2000 SP1 at the moment...and the PCC itself isn't working
correctly; the macro opens the hyper-linked .mpp files just fine, but it
doesn't present the right dates in the summary task within the PCC, and it
doesn't report the resource project summary dates (in the Resource Usage
view) correctly either, but the WDWW report works beautifully.

I thought perhaps the errors were due to our use of a resource pool, but I'm
really not sure. Anythoughts you might have on the matter would be greatly
appreciated.

Best,
