Resource Usage View

Probably a daft question, but can anyone tell me why, when I go into Resource
Usage view and try to filter to a partiular resource, that entries from the
Task Name, as well as the Resource Names are displayed - if it's a resource
usage view, surely, I should only see resource names displayed there..?

Does this question qualify me for the "Newbie of the Century" award? I await
your withering contempt.

LOL - There are 3 basic databases in Project - tasks, resources, and
assignments that connect tasks and resources. The various views look at
selected information about one of those elements. The usage views are
looking at the assignment data spread out over time - task usage comes at it
from the task side with resources detailed for each task. while resource
usage comes at the same information from the opposite direction, arranged by
resource with their tasks detailed underneath. If you're seeking aggregate
information about the resources rather than time-scaled information about
work assignments, explore the tables and options available on the View menu,
Tables option while looking at the Resource Sheet view. If you want to see
time-phased resource data without the task detail, click the blank button at
the top of the ID number column in the usage view to select all the
assignments and then click the minus button on the formatting toolbar to
collapse all the detail and just show the totals rows.

i actually think it was quite a good question ... questions like "which one
is the left mouse button" followed by "why is it called the left mouse
button" leave me wondering :)
