How do you restore a portal that was created on one server (say server 1)
using one configuration DB to another server (say server 2) using another
config DB. I've copied the backup files from the server 1 to server 2 and
everytime I try to restore the portal I get errors related I believe to the
configuration DB not being the one the portal expects. I've tried to
copying the config DB from the server 1 to server 2 and associating
SharePoint on the server 2 with the config DB from the server 1 (located on
server 2) but I get an error stating that the configuration isn't supported.
I've removed the reference to server 1s SQL server from the config DB on
server 2 and made sure every component was pointing to server 2 but I still
see the reference to server 1s SQL server in the admin page. It's acting
like this is a medium sized farm with 2 SQL servers.
