Restoring outlook data

I have an outlook data file recovered from a computer with a dead harddrive.
The file has no extension, is named "outlook", is of type "office data file"
and is relatively large. It is dated the day of my harddrive crash. I want
to open it in outlook as I believe it is all my old outlook data but have no
idea how to do it? How do I do it?
Thanks in advance!

Kathleen,
Thank you for the article. Unfortunately, it doesn't help with my current
prediciment. The "outlook data file" truly has no extension. When I look at
it's properties it says the following:
File type - Office Data File
Opens with - Unknown application
It is just called "Outlook"
The attribute "archive" is checked
There were no pst files on the recovered hard drive.
Any suggestions?
Thanks again
