retrieving accidentally discarded files from microsoft publisher

I have inadvertently discarded two important files of
information from my microsoft publisher 2000. I have
searched and cannot find them. I have not deleted anything
from my trash, so I can only assume that these files are
still stored somewhere. But where? and how do I retrieve
them? Can anyone help me? Thanks J.

If you created a project and closed it without
saving.......it's gone.

And, I guess you have looked in your recycle bin?

If these projects were accidentally saved in
the wrong location...you may be able to do a
simple search for *.pub and find them.
(yes, you need the asterisk)

Do a search on your system for *.tmp files and *.pub files and choose the
date(s) that you discarded them.
