Revised Target (Finish) Dates

What is the best way to see revised target dates for tasks in MSP.

Example: Task 1 had a target date of 8/26 (fixed units, effort driven), but
the resource assigned was out sick for a week. The planned finish date in MSP
does not change from 8/26 even though no time was booked to it, but reality
is the task was not done on time. What is the best way to see the new
practical date - recalculate the new finish date and all successor tasks
throughout the plan?

Thanks!

Hi,

There are two ways
Put nonworking time in the rsources's calendar for the nonworking week
Or Enter actual work in theh Task Usage view, entering 0 for the absence
days

Adding on Jan De Messemaeker's suggestions, you may also:
1. Click on the Split Task button
2. Drag the unfinished part of the task to the resource return date

or

1. Select the task
2. Tools> Tacking> Update Project Plan
3. Select the second option (Replan uncompleted work so it starts) and
select the date when the resource returns
4. Select Selected Tasks and OK

Hope that help.
