Running Groove on laptop and desktop -- can do on 1 account?

E

ekoenig

I have a desktop computer and a laptop computer that I use daily. I
originally put Groove on my laptop and also want it available on my desktop
computer. It makes sense that since I have paid for 1 Groove account, that I
should be able to run that 1 account on both computers. Is this correct?
I can't seem to install Groove on my desktop without purchasing a new Groove
license. Right now I'm operating the trial version of Groove on my desktop
while I figure this all out.
Can someone tell me if I can indeed run one Groove account on 2 different
computers? If so, how do I run the install on the second computer.

Hi ekoenig -

You should be able to save your Groove account as a file from yout r laptop:
Options -> Preferences -> Account -> Save.

Copy the file to the other PC and just double-click it to launnch Groove.

I did the same thing this evening, BTW.

Does that transfer groove to the other computer or both machines now fully
functional using 1 account?

Hi Laura

That leaves your Groove account on two machines. Once you've got allthe
spaces on the second computer, you can remove your account from the first.

Hi,

Microsoft Office Groove 2007 licenses allow Groove to be installed and
activated on 1 or 2 PCs, depending on the type of license you purchased.

I suspect you purchase a subscription license on Microsoft's webstore.
This is a yearly subscription, allowing to activate Groove on 1 PC only.

FPP (Full Product Package)you may purchase in retail stores or volume
licenses you purchase through your Microsoft business partner (minimum
ordering quantity = 5 licenses), are perpetual licenses that allow you
to activate Groove on 2 PCs (on 1 desktop and 1 laptop computer for the
same user).

From a technical point of view you can install your Groove account on
multiple devices, as long as Groove is activated on these devices.

Compared to Groove Virtual Office (GVO) 3.1 this represents a big
change, as in GVO 3.1 you did not activate the product, but rather your
Groove account. Hence, 1 license allowed you to use your Groove
account on up to 5 PCs at a time.

Hope this answers your question :)
