Safe Mode WITH Admin Privileges ?

How do I launch Word (2007 v12.0) in Safe Mode and with Administrator
Privileges (Vista Ultimate x64) so that I can remove an Addin?

It seems that the Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin is causing Word to lock
up and I want to remove it to see if this will fix the problem. Word works
fine if I lauch it in Safe Mode but I can not remove the addin while in
Safe Mode without also having Admin Privileges.

I know how to launch Word in Safe Mode but I do not know how to get
Administrative Privileges at the same time.

First of all I'd try turning off the add-in from within the Acrobat PDFMaker
settings. If that didn't work, I'd use the Com Add-Ins dialog box in Word,
making sure to run *Windows* from an Administrator account (if necessary).

Safe mode in Word is not intended for any permanent changes; in fact, if you
change the settings those changes won't be saved when you exit the
application.

Thanks for the reply, Stefan.

The reason I was launching Word in safe mode is that a normal program
launch does not allow me to access the Add-Ins menu item under the Word
Options menu. That menu is grayed out and unaccessible. Before this Word
lockup problem began, I could get to that menu fine. When I launch Word
in Safe Mode, the program doesn't lock up and that Add-Ins menu is
accessible.

I am blaming Adobe PDFMaker because Word totally crahse once and gave an
error message naming that program. That only happened once though. Word
normally just frezzes after a norml launch but does nto crash and give an
error message. I need to turn off the Add-ins so I can verify what is
causing the problem but I can get at the required Word menu to do this.
I can not find how to Adobe the Word Add-In from Adobe Acrobat itself.
(version 9). I tried changing the folder name containing the PDFMaker
addin file but Acrobat just 'repaired itself' and created a new file so
that it could loac the add-in into Word.

Any ideas?

Thanks for your ideas. I tried them but none of them fixed my problem. I
noticed in another thread in this group that Terry Farrell (also a MSWord
MVP like you) suggested deleting the Word Data Key (HKEY_CURRENT_USER
\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Data).

On the chance that it might fix my problem, I deleted the key and all is
back working fine again for me. I guess my problem wasn't a Word Addin
problem at all, so my initial post unintentionaly mislead you. Thanks for
your help though.
