save-in combo box, in save-as dialogue box, is slow; how fix?

When I go to the "save-as" dialogue box, and click on the "save-in" combo
box, the response is very slow. It can take 10 or 20 or more seconds. All
other microsoft applications on my PC with a "save-as" dialogue box respond
to the click in less than a second. But all my Office 2003 applications
(word, excel, etc) take 10 or 20 seconds to respond to that click. Does
anybody have any idea what could be wrong? Thanks. --Dino P.S. once it
does respond, if it click the save-in combo box again its fast, but if I
close the save-as dialogue box then when I re-open it (by going to the "File"
"Save-As" menu) then the save-in combo box is slow again.
Please help if anyone has any idea. Thank you.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

Thanks much!! That did the trick.

One more question though:
Any idea why this happens only with MS Office applications but not others.
Notepad did not have this problem. Microsoft Digital Image Editor did not
have this problem. And neither did Microsoft Works programs. Only the
MS Office apps had the problem. Even right-clicking My Computer and
left-clicking explore the entire tree comes up fast, including the network
drives that were not available (come up with red-X on them). Just curious
do you have any idea why that is the case?

Thanks again! --Dino
