Saving a project plan after accepting updates

Through some testing, we have figured out that after accepting updates from
resources (from PWA) and we save the file (in Desktop), it publishes the file
to PWA. We don't want to publish the file yet because it sends "bad" data to
PWA; the PM needs to make other changes first.

When we save the file any other time, it just saves, not publishes. It only
seems to publish when we save after accepting updates from resources.

Microsoft says it is a known bug and that Project 2007 will fix it.
However, Project 2007 won't be out for a while.

Have other companies noticed this, and if so, how do you handle it?

We recommend that PM's accept the updates, click the Cancel button when
prompted to save the project, analyze project variance, make schedule
changes as needed, and then save and publish the project. Hope this helps.
