Thanks a lot for the link. I can always find some use for such a nifty little
tool. It would appear this utility is solely designed for mirroring a set of
XP users onto a Vista system, viz., XP-to-Vista “one-way†transfers.
What I had in mind was to save the Office 2007 customize settings from one
XP user, and migrate these to other XP users who may or may not be residing
on the same machine.
To this end, I have tried the Office 2003 User Settings Saving Tool, with
partial success. Partial, because certain settings like the user-defined
quick access menu cannot be saved by the Office 2003 tool.
Neither are the following of any practical value:
1. Built-in XP “files and settings transfer wizard†--- Office 2007 not
catered for, all office files rejected if included in user defined folders.
2. Copying user profile --- Office settings not transferred.
3. USMT 3.0 --- rejecting a long list of Office files when using the default
config files, have yet to find any useful info in the doco on how to
correctly customize the config files…
Many thanks for helping out!
