Saving Page Exagerrated Times

Jimmuk

Hi,

I see a topic back in January regarding the time it takes for FP2003 to
save pages with even only minor changes.

Unfortunately this topic has expired and I wanted to ask if a
resolution had been found for this issue.

I didn't see any resolution posted to the topic so I will ask here if
anyone else has had this problem and has found a solution.

Thanks for any assistance provided..

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with
Expression Web Designer and SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

Then clear your browser temporary internet and history files
See if it helps.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your assistance - I have used the FP Cleaner as suggested
and it does seem to have made a difference albeit a minor change.

It seems to still take an abnormally long time to save a file when
every other application I use is almost instantaneous.

Trouble is I don't know the processes involved and just exactly what FP
is saving - it can't be just a simple file save.

I'm updating several hundred files with a minor yet crucial change and
its not something I can use a text editor to accomplish safely with a
global replace.

When it gets to thirty seconds or more for a file save and multiplied
several hundred fold it becomes a bit of a chore.

Anyway I do appreciate your advice and I'm sure the utility will be
handy for future use.

regards,
Jimmuk
