saving to an older version

I am trying to save a publisher 2002 file to 2000 version. It won't allow me
to save it in this version! (have done the file-save as-thing in the menu but
it says it cannot save the file) Anybody have any ideas? I am desperate!

Lots of images? Publisher 2000 does not use image compression, could be the file is
too large to convert. The WordArt is different as well.
The Publisher 2002 format is typically only 40 % of the size of the same publication
in the Publisher 2000 format.
The following article may address your issue.

The program stops responding when you try to open the "Save In" list in Office 2002
and 2003

Thank you. Yes there are lots of pictures in the file so it is probably too
big. is there anything i can do? I need to send this off to a printer but
they only have Publisher 2000.

I have copied the file and with the copied version i have deleted all the
pictures and text and am left with not much more than just the template. The
size is around 270kb. But the file still will not save into 2000 version.
Could there be another problem other than size here?
I may have to look into doing a pdf if all else fails.

If you want I will try to convert it for you. You can send it email or put it on a
web page. I have broadband so size isn't a problem.

Thanks so much for your help Mary. I think that article hits the nail on the
head. Its a newletter production and i just delete pages and then refill them
for the next newsletter so maybe the size is still remaining. I found an old
newletter that was saved in 2000 version and was able to copy and paste
everything into that one and resave as 2000. I will try following those
instructions to remove from the deleted pages. Thanks again!
