Scheduling with discrete resource

How can I allocate a disctere resourse?
A bridge building for example, if there are one resource including two
excavators, any one can do one same task. In other words, one task can be
completed with one excavator in the resource. NO idea how to constrain the
relation.
Thanks in advance.

Set up a Work Resource called Excavator. Set the Maximum Units to either
2.0 or 200% (depending on how you have your options set up).

Then, when you assign the Excavator, make sure to set the Assigned Units
to a maximum of 100% per assignment.

Hi Yoav,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

It is a well known failing of project that there's no way of tying 2
resources together like an excavator and driver, unless you create the
resource as a single resource called "Excavator and Driver" and assign that.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
