when i click to get into mircosoft office basic edition 2003 it allows anyone
to get access to my office acct and my email. it gives some security but you
can just click off it and see all my email. how do i set up some security or
password that will not allow them to see it or access all of my email or
microsoft office.

Use a logon that requires you to put in your name and password, use a
password protected screen-saver set to come on after 5 minutes of
inactivity, use a password on your .pst file (ask Help for instructions) and
generally, don't leave your computer on and unprotected.
