"send mail" icon in toolbar

I cannot get the "send mail" icon to showup in the toolbar. When my wife logs on to outlook in her name the "send mail" icon is to the left of the attachment icon but when i log on, it is nowhere to be found and our settings are exactly the same. any suggestions?
