Show tag Display Name on the toolbar

Does anyone know how to get the tag display names to show on the
toolbar? I find icons pretty much useless.

Ideally, I'd like to see just the display names and no icons at all.

[1] Hovering the mouse over the icon shows the name in a Tool Tip.
[2] There wouldn't be the screen real estate to present the tags via word
rather than icon.
