sort order in word

I'm having a problem the way Word sorts in the Open box. For example, in word
2000 it would put "data" before "data01", however, in word XP it is reversed.
I was wondering if anybody has any ways to fix this. I know you can sort by
name, but i don't want everything to be reversed, just put the letters before
numerals.
