Sorting a labels alphabetically

I have a table which contains address labels and would like to sort them all alphabetically by surname. Is this possible?

Not in their present form. Convert to text, sort then convert back to a
table and use that table as a data source for a mail merge to new labels.

select Sort from the table menu

I have a table which contains address labels and would like to sort them

But if I sort it will sort on the first word which is the first name, I want to find out how to sort on the second word.

You can sort by Word 2 if you choose a space for "Separate fields at" in the
Sort Options, but you will still be able to sort only one column at a time,
which is not much help if the label sheets have more than one label across.

But if I sort it will sort on the first word which is the first name, I
